Not sure whether it is silver?

Mixed boxes and inherited collections are welcome. We will help identify what has precious-metal value.
Silver coin, bullion, and sterling buyers in Overland Park
Premier Gold Buyers purchases silver coins, bars, rounds, sterling jewelry, flatware, serving pieces, and inherited collections. We welcome single items as well as large accumulations from Overland Park, Leawood, Prairie Village, Olathe, and communities throughout the Kansas City area.
Common bullion products include American Silver Eagles, Canadian Silver Maple Leafs, British Britannias, one-ounce rounds, and bars from recognized refiners such as Engelhard, Johnson Matthey, Sunshine Minting, the Royal Canadian Mint, and PAMP Suisse. We also evaluate generic silver rounds and bars in many weights, including one ounce, ten ounce, kilo, and one-hundred-ounce formats.
U.S. silver coins and inherited collections
Pre-1965 U.S. dimes, quarters, and half dollars generally contain 90% silver. We also evaluate Morgan dollars, Peace dollars, Eisenhower silver issues, Kennedy half dollars, wartime nickels, proof sets, mint sets, and certified coins. Some pieces trade mainly for silver content, while others may deserve consideration for date, mintmark, condition, rarity, or certification.
Do not polish coins or remove them from holders. Cleaning can reduce collectible value. Bring original tubes, mint packaging, capsules, and grading-service holders with the collection.
Sterling versus silver plate
Sterling silver is commonly marked 925, Sterling, or Ster. Silver-plated objects contain only a thin surface layer of silver and are valued differently. Marks can be confusing, so you do not need to identify everything first—we will separate and test the items appropriately.
How silver is evaluated
Silver offers are influenced by purity, actual weight, current market conditions, product type, and resale demand. Government-minted coins and desirable vintage bars may carry premiums above generic silver. Collectible coins require a different review than common bullion or sterling scrap, so we look at the complete item before making an offer.
We explain what you have, how it was categorized, and the factors behind the offer. There is no pressure to sell.
Do you buy tarnished silver?
Yes. Tarnish does not remove the underlying silver value. There is no need to polish items before an evaluation.
Can I bring mixed boxes?
Yes. Mixed silverware, jewelry, coins, plated items, and inherited collections are welcome. Sorting is not required.
Do you evaluate gold too?
Yes. See our Sell Gold page for jewelry, coins, bars, and other gold items.
For more detail about specific investment products, visit Coins & Bullion or request a private evaluation.
What to bring with silver items
Bring the collection as it is, together with any mint packaging, tubes, albums, certificates, receipts, or prior inventories. Documentation is useful but not required. If you choose to sell, a government-issued photo ID is needed to complete the transaction.
Private local silver evaluations
Evaluating silver in person lets you keep the collection with you, see how items are separated, and ask questions before deciding. Premier Gold Buyers serves Overland Park and the surrounding Johnson County and Kansas City communities.
